PLAYER OF THE GAME

Sausan Shakerin: Alta's running back carried the ball 28 times for 119 yards and one touchdown to lead the Hawks to their first title since 1988.

PLAY OF THE GAME

Trailing 12-7 after an Alta touchdown with under four minutes remaining the opening half, Layton found success late in the half moving the ball downfield through the air. It marched into Alta's red zone, but instead of coming away with at least three points Layton threw an ill-advised interception on a desperation heave.

KEY CALL

Continually giving the ball to Parker Walbeck finally paid off for the Hawks in the fourth quarter. On three separate occassions Friday Alta QB Ryan Rosenvall tossed a shovel pass to Walbeck, but each time Layton stopped it for a short gain. Alta tried it again with 9:04 remaining, and he raced 40 yards putting Alta ahead 19-7.

QUOTABLE

"We're going to be a powerhouse for the next 5 years. It's not going to be Bingham ... it's going to be Alta."Ryan Rosenvall, Alta quarterback
