Kohl's Corp. reported a 14 percent drop in third-quarter net income amid a challenging economy and lowered its profit expectations for the year.
The retailer, based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., said Thursday that it earned $194 million, or 61 cents per share, in the three-month period ended Nov. 3. That compared with $224.5 million, or 68 cents per share, a year ago.
Sales were up to $3.83 billion for the quarter from $3.65 billion in the year-ago period, a 5 percent increase.
Security National Financial
Security National Financial Corp., based in Salt Lake City, on Wednesday reported a net loss of $662,000, or 9 cents per share, for the third quarter ended Sept. 30. That compares with net income of $1.5 million, or 22 cents per share, in the year-earlier quarter.
Revenues totaled $51.7 million, up from $38.6 million.
The company is involved in life insurance, cemeteries and mortuaries and mortgages.
ForeverGreen
ForeverGreen Worldwide Corp., based in Orem, on Thursday reported net income of $83,613 on revenues of $5.7 million for the third quarter.
The company, which manufactures and distributes whole foods, did not provide third-quarter 2006 figures.
Pacific WebWorks
Software company Pacific WebWorks Inc., based in Salt Lake City, on Thursday reported a company-record net income of $266,809 for the quarter ended Sept. 30.
The company did not provide revenue figures for the quarter or financial information for the year-earlier quarter.
Park City Group
Park City Group Inc. on Thursday reported a net loss of $654,724 for the fiscal first quarter ended Sept. 30. That compares with a loss of $544,064 for the same quarter a year ago.
Revenues totaled $854,264, up from $585,895 a year earlier.
The company develops and markets business software.
