AUGUST RUSH — Fantasy about a musical prodigy (Charlie Highmore) who's hoping to find his biological parents.

ENCHANTED — Fairy-tale princess Amy Adams finds herself trapped in the real world in this romantic comedy/fantasy.

HITMAN — Video game-inspired action-thriller stars Timothy Olyphant as the title character.

I'M NOT THERE — Heath Ledger, Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett portray different aspects of Bob Dylan in Todd Haynes' tribute to the musician.

JOE STRUMMER: THE FUTURE IS UNWRITTEN — Julien Temple's documentary profiles the late Clash frontman.

THE MIST — "The Green Mile" filmmaker Frank Darabont takes on Stephen King's tale about a supernatural storm.

NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN — The Coen brothers adapt the Cormac McCarthy novel, with Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones starring.

THIS CHRISTMAS — Yule-themed drama about a fractured family reuniting over the holidays. Regina King and Nia Long star.

BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD — Sidney Lumet's crime-thriller stars Philip Seymour Hoffman and Ethan Hawke as brothers.

NOV. 30

AWAKE — Heart-surgery patient Hayden Christensen is conscious during his procedure in this thriller.

TERROR'S ADVOCATE — Documentary feature from Barbet Schroeder, examining the life and career of attorney Jacques Verges.

VANAJA — Indian drama about a teen determined to improve herself and aid her fisherman father. With subtitles.

THE GOLDEN COMPASS — Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig star in this fantasy, based on the first novel in the Philip Pullman trilogy.
