BROTHER ACT: New Jersey big man Jason Collins — Jazz backup center Jarron Collins' twin brother — went scoreless for last season's final seven non-playoff games, and, despite starting, this season's first three. When he finally scored against Atlanta last week, many in the Nets locker room reportedly gave him a standing ovation.

AULD LANG SYNE: James Lang, sent home from the 2006 Rocky Mountain Revue Jazz team due to blood pressure and weight issues, is back in Utah as a member of the Flash. He was on the Miami Heat's 2007 summer-league team and was a Flash expansion-draft selection after the Arkansas RimRockers went under.

During his 11 games with the NBA Washington Wizards last season, he played against the Jazz, and Sloan made him tear up — but not because Sloan yelled at him. "He said he was happy for me (at making Washington's team), and it brought kind of little tears to my eyes," said Lang.

More physically ready this time for the altitude, he's back in the D-League, but, "I look at it as a blessing that I'm still able to play and be watched by NBA teams, especially the Jazz and Boston Celtics (the Flash's other parent team).

"I love Utah," the 6-foot-10, 305-pound post player said. "It's very peaceful. Not a lot of stuff you can get into. Basically just go and do what you have to do. I just love the environment. It's beautiful."

DITTO: Brandon Wallace, who arrived in Lehi Tuesday, sent down by the Boston Celtics, was taken with Utah scenery as well. "Fresh off the plane, and my first thought was, 'It looks like a postcard' when I seen all the mountains and stuff, so that was a neat change," said the native of South Carolina.
