Barry Cleveland, publisher and editor of the Carmi, Ill., Times, writes in his op-ed column about Mitt Romney and the fact that many Americans will refuse to vote for him simply because he's a Mormon. "I'm a Democrat," Cleveland writes, "and I'll be picking from among Hillary, Barack, John and the others when I step into the voting booth Feb. 5. And even if I were a Republican, I'm not at all sure that Romney would be my man. But I think it's a shame that so many Americans reject him out of hand just because of his faith. I hope you're not one of them." He also talks about the LDS Church in general, and suggests that "in my experience, Mormons are very much like the rest of us: most try to be good citizens, good parents and providers, and they try to do what's right."
