I read with interest a recent letter, "No confidence in Herbert" by Mark Faux (Readers' Forum, Nov. 8), a former Constitutional Party candidate for State House District 43.
In his letter, Mr. Faux accuses the lieutenant governor of "in-office manipulations" resulting in his removal from the 2006 ballot.
The fact is, Mr. Faux failed to file a financial disclosure with our office as mandated by Utah statute and was removed from the ballot accordingly.
The lieutenant governor takes very seriously his sworn oath to uphold the laws of Utah and has given his staff a clear mandate to maintain political neutrality in the execution of his official duties.
