Mayor-elect Ralph Becker has chosen former Salt Lake City Mayor Palmer DePaulis to lead his transition team.
DePaulis, who is executive director of the Utah Department of Community and Culture, was the mayor of Salt Lake City from 1985-1992. He'll put together the transition team as Becker prepares to take over the reins from Mayor Rocky Anderson.
"The team's charge is to lay the foundation for Mayor-elect Becker's leadership in growing a great American city," according to a statement released today by Becker's camp.
"The transition team will scope and evaluate city government's performance internally (within City Hall) and externally (within the community) with an eye toward aligning city department personnel and priorities with Mayor-elect Becker's vision," the statement reads.
Other members of the team will be announced next week.
