The Westminster College Film and Lecture Series, in partnership with the Salt Lake City Film Center, presents "Deliver Us From Evil" 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory, 1840 S. 1300 East. Guest Amy Berg (filmmaker) will attend the screening and will conduct a discussion following the film.
"Deliver Us From Evil" follows Father Oliver O'Grady as he moves from one parish to another in northern California during the 1970s. He quickly wins each congregation's trust and respect, but unbeknownst to them, O'Grady is a dangerously active pedophile that church hierarchy, aware of his predilection, harbored for 30 years.
The film was nominated for the 2007 Academy Awards Best Documentary and won Best Documentary at the 2006 Los Angeles Film Festival.
Tickets are free. For more information on the Film and Lecture Series, go to www.slcfilmcenter.org.
