LAS VEGAS The Utah Grizzlies second-straight attempt at a weekend sweep fell short as they lost 5-1 to the Las Vegas Wranglers Saturday at the Orleans Arena.
The Grizzlies on Friday night had their largest goal output of the season eight which included hat tricks from Michael Haley and Ryan Kinasewich, in winning 8-5.
On Saturday, Las Vegas jumped to a 4-0 lead through two periods and never let Utah back into the game. The Wranglers' second, third and fourth goals all came on power plays.
Utah's lone goal came at 1:49 of the third period with Andy Sertich scoring and Trevor Smith and Scott Burt picking up assists.
Prior to the game, forward Ryan Kinasewich was recalled by AHL Bridgeport.
The Grizzlies return home Friday and Saturday to host Victoria at the E Center. Face-offs both nights are at 7:05 p.m.
