HEBER CITY — A man accused of shooting at a group of hunters during last year's deer hunt has been sentenced to 60 days in jail.

During his sentencing in 4th District Court on Friday, Jesse Buck Buckley was ordered to surrender to the Wasatch County Jail by Nov. 9. He also was fined $740 following his conviction on a charge of reckless endangerment, a class A misdemeanor.

Buckley, 24, pleaded guilty to the charge in a plea deal with Wasatch County prosecutors. In exchange, third-degree felony charges of illegally discharging a firearm were dropped.

Wasatch County sheriff's deputies said Buckley shot at a group of hunters in October 2006 after an angry confrontation over hunting turf.

Buckley's hunting privileges were revoked during the three years he is on probation, the judge also ruled.
