Newspaper's annual writing contest is getting under way
Entries will not be accepted before Nov. 5, 2007, and will not be accepted after Dec. 3, 2007.
There will be four to six stories chosen for publication in the newspaper the week prior to Christmas with the final story appearing on Christmas Day. True-life stories should be original and no more than 800 words in length. The editor/judges prefer stories that cover a wide range of Christmas experiences, including humor. Winners will be notified.
Ideally, stories should be written on a computer or typewriter or printed out legibly so they can be easily read.
The author's name, address, daytime and evening phone numbers along with an e-mail address, if possible, must be included.
Duplicate submissions are discouraged. Remember, the deadline for submission is Monday, Dec. 3.
Address entries to "Christmas Best" c/o Deseret Morning News, 30 E. 100 South, Suite 400, P.O. Box 1257, Salt Lake City, UT 84110. Fax entries to 801-237-2528 or e-mails will be accepted at johnson@desnews.com.
