Blake Vernon of Pocatello, Idaho, walks his bike across Elk Avenue in Crested Butte, Colo., Saturday while cattle from the Allen Ranch mosey across in the opposite direction. Every fall the Allen family herds cattle from the Colorado mountains near Crested Butte to lower pastures for the winter.
