Rocky Mountain Power has been recognized with the 2007 Green Power Program of the Year award for its Blue Sky renewable energy program. The award, presented by the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, cites the utility for its commitment to advancing the development of the nation's green power market.
More than 58,000 customers in six Western states participate in Blue Sky, which offers customers the option of purchasing 100-kilowatt-hour blocks for $1.95 each in addition to their regular monthly electricity bill.
