NUKU'ALOFA, TONGA Students from Liahona High School the LDS Church-owned high school here lined the roads in front of the newly renovated Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple Thursday to welcome Elder Russell M. Nelson, a member of the Twelve Apostles for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Elder Nelson, who visited Tonga in 1991 to participate in celebrations marking the LDS Church's 100 years in Tonga, will rededicate the 18,000-square foot Tonga temple Sunday.
Numerous Utahns some with Tongan heritage or who served as LDS missionaries in the country traveled to the Pacific island kingdom for the weekend celebrations.
