In association with KUED Channel 7 and Utah's public libraries, Hogle Zoo will host the 15th annual reading marathon kick-off party Saturday from 1-4 p.m.
Hogle Zoo will host several reading stations where visitors can hear animal stories, then learn about live animals in up-close presentations. The zoo's education department also will be in each reading station with animal bio-facts, making learning fun for kids of all ages. This year's reading marathon theme is Curious George, so there will be a storyteller in the zoo's Great Ape Building.
Participation in the reading party is free with regular paid admission or with a zoo membership. Visit Hogle Zoo online at www.hoglezoo.org or for more information, contact education curator Chris Schmitz by e-mail at cschmitz@hoglezoo.org or call 584-1714.
