• The Expanded Salt Lake County Council of Governments is scheduled to vote Thursday at 2 p.m. on whether projects such as TRAX and commuter rail should be funded with county sales-tax dollars. The vote will be at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 S. State, Room N2003.
• If the Expanded COG votes to keep funding for the transit projects, the Salt Lake County Council is scheduled to vote Thursday to ratify its decision to tentatively fund the rail lines.
• The Legislature has authority to take actions against Salt Lake County that could "be destructive" to the rail-funding process, according to UTA general counsel Bruce Jones. But he said the agency was working to assuage any concerns from state lawmakers.
