Two men charged in connection with a string of shootings last June, two fatal, pleaded not guilty to the charges in court Friday.

Samuel Paul Krokaugger and Mohamed Daffalla Kabor, both 18, appeared in 3rd District Court to deny a list of felony charges pending against them, including murder charges.

According to the charges, on June 24 Krokaugger and Kabor were driving on I-15 near 2100 South when Kabor fired shots at another vehicle in a case of mistaken identity. Luis Trujillo, 17, was killed.

Krokaugger is accused of pulling a gun to rob a drug dealer on June 29 outside a South Salt Lake apartment complex. Aaron Wheelwright, 20, was shot and killed trying to stop the robbery.

Krokaugger is also charged in a June 29 shooting of another driver at 800 South and 900 West as well as the shooting of a 19-year-old woman who was throwing water balloons at guests of a house party near 2300 South and 900 East on May 18.

In court Friday, both men stood beside one another as they entered their pleas. A four-day trial has been scheduled for Feb. 25.

Krokaugger's attorney said she plans to file a motion to suppress a search warrant and the murder weapons believed to have been used in both fatal shootings. A hearing for those motions has been scheduled for Dec. 13.
