PROVO A man who allegedly refused to take "no" for an answer is now in the Utah County Jail for investigation of rape.
The 28-year-old Orem man had developed a friendship with a woman over the past several months, and the woman would frequently spend the night just to sleep, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.
On Sunday, the woman reported to police she had gone to the man's house Saturday night and he tried to kiss her, but she pushed him away.
He then pushed her onto the bed and tried to remove her clothing, according to the affidavit.
The woman kept saying "no," but the man hit her in the face and forced himself on her, she told police.
Sunday evening police contacted the man, who said the sex was consensual.
He was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of rape on $5,000 cash or bond.
