SOUTH JORDAN Fire caused an estimated $200,000 damage to a house at 1060 W. 10290 South but caused no injuries Friday afternoon.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, but firefighters rescued a cat that was inside the house when they responded to the 2:45 p.m. fire.
It took firefighters from South Jordan, West Jordan, Midvale and Unified Fire Authority about 45 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was accelerated by high winds. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
