Founded: Originally known as Hershey Chocolate Corp. and organized in 1927 as a successor to a business founded in 1894 by Milton S. Hershey
Number of employees: 13,000
Top brands: Hershey's, Reese's, Hershey's Kisses, Kit Kat, Twizzlers, Jolly Rancher and Ice Breakers. A wholly owned subsidiary, Artisan Confections Co., produces Scharffen Berger, Joseph Schmidt and Dagoba.
Market: Exports products to more than 90 countries
Financials: $4.94 billion in sales and $559 million in net income in 2006
