Auditions: The Utah Regional Ballet; Kurt Bestor's Best of Utah Singer Search Auditions
• The Utah Regional Ballet will hold "Nutcracker" auditions for children ages 7 years old and older on Friday at the Covey Center for the Arts, 425 W. Center St., Provo.
Registration will be from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and auditions will run from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration fee is $10. Performances will be Dec. 14-22. For more information, contact the Jacqueline College School of Ballet, 801-796-7323.
• Kurt Bestor's Best of Utah Singer Search Auditions will be held this month and next month at various locations and times. The auditions are open to Utah residents of all ages. Singers will have two minutes to sing a song of their own choosing a cappella with a microphone. The order will be in a first-come, first-served basis. and a sign-up sheet will be available at each location.
The grand prize winner will record a holiday song with Kurt Bestor and have a guest singing spot during Bestor's annual Christmas concert in December, as well as a trip to Los Angeles.
On Tuesday, auditions will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Megaplex 13 at the Junction, 2351 Kiesel Ave. in Ogden. On Wednesday, Oct. 31, auditions will take place from noon to 2 p.m. at the Utah State University Taggart Student Center Lounge, Room 106, in Logan.
November's auditions will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the University Mall in Orem from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesday, Nov. 14, at The Gateway Union Pacific Building in Salt Lake City from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
On Monday, Nov. 26, the winner will be announced at 11 a.m. at KSL TV studios, 55 N. 300 West.
