FORT WORTH, Texas — Darrell Mack did it again.

For the fifth time in six games and fourth time in a row, the junior tailback rushed for 100 or more yards.

In Utah's 27-20 win over TCU on Thursday night, Mack finished with exactly 100 yards on 32 carries.

"Darrell did an awesome job running the ball and the offensive line did an excellent job giving him holes to run through," said quarterback Brian Johnson.

Mack, who has now topped 1,000 yards in his career, wasn't aware he had reached the century mark again.

"That's cool," he said. "I just wanted to get the win."

Mack's volume of carries and success on the ground helped Utah dominate the time of possession against TCU by a significant margin. The Utes won the battle by nearly 15 minutes.

Since taking over as Utah's featured back, Mack has become a gauge of success. The Utes are 5-0 when he rushes for 100 or more yards. His previous conquests came against UCLA (107), Utah State (132), Louisville (163) and San Diego State (131).

"Obviously," head coach Kyle Whittingham acknowledged. "Darrell Mack has done a great job."

Mack, who was pulled out of a planned redshirt year earlier in the season when Matt Asiata was injured and other backs were ineffective, entered Thursday's game as the Mountain West Conference's second-leading rusher with 107.8 yards per game.

With four games left to play, Mack is just 253 yards away from becoming the first Utah running back since Quinton Ganther in 2005 to reach the 1,000-yard milestone in a season.
