• UDOT released a draft environmental impact statement about Mountain View on Tuesday. Public comment about that study will be accepted until Dec. 24.

• UDOT plans to review all comments and then release a final environmental impact statement about the road. Public comment will be accepted on the final study, and UDOT then will submit the study to the Federal Highway Administration and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for approval.

• If approved, UDOT can then begin construction. The agency anticipates it will get approval for the road by fall 2008.
