Kaysville camper killed by lightning
Summit County sheriff's deputies said Gary Richter, 60, was camping in the Poison Mountain area around 6 p.m. Saturday when a storm moved overhead. Richter, his son and his brother all sought shelter in a tent, which was struck by lightning.
"All were injured, and the victim was unable to be revived," Summit County Sheriff's Capt. Alan Siddoway said Monday.
The two men with Richter tried to perform CPR. A medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene, but Siddoway said it had to be grounded overnight because of weather conditions.
