BYU Cougars (3-2)

BYU NON-CONFERENCE

ARIZONA — Lost at USC, 20-13. The Wildcats (2-5) nearly became the second team to knock off the Trojans in as many weeks. But their upset bid fell short. Next: Stanford (2-4).

TULSA — Beat Marshall, 38-31. The Golden Hurricane (4-2) continue to try to outscore their opponents. It worked on Saturday against the Thundering Herd. Next: at Central Florida (3-3).

EASTERN WASHINGTON — Beat Montana State, 35-13. The Eagles (4-2) rebounded from back-to-back heartbreaking losses to post a Big Sky victory. Next: at BYU (4-2).

Mountain West Conference

AIR FORCE — Beat Colorado State, 45-21. The Falcons (5-2, 4-1) crushed their in-state rival Rams as running back Chad Hall sets school record with 256 yards. Next: Wyoming (4-2, 1-1).

COLORADO STATE — Lost to Air Force, 45-21. The struggling Rams (0-6, 0-3) have now lost 13 consecutive games, dating back to last season. Next: at UNLV (2-5, 1-2).

NEW MEXICO — Beat Wyoming, 20-3. The Lobos (4-2, 1-1) earned a big MWC road victory in Laramie as UNM's defense comes up big. Next: at San Diego State (2-4, 1-1).

SAN DIEGO STATE — Lost at Utah, 23-7. A week after defeating Colorado State on the road, the Aztecs (2-4, 1-1) didn't have nearly as much success against the Utes. Next: New Mexico (4-2, 1-1).

TCU — Beat Stanford, 38-36. The Horned Frogs (4-3, 1-2) held off the Cardinal, who were fresh off a monumental upset of No. 2 Southern California. Next: Utah (4-2, 1-2).

UNLV — Lost to BYU, 24-14. The Rebels (2-5, 1-2) played BYU tough in the first half but saw the Cougars impose their will in the second half. Next: Colorado State (0-6, 0-3).

WYOMING — Lost to New Mexico, 20-3. The Cowboys (4-2, 1-1) earned a big win over TCU at home only to lose a home game to the Lobos the next week. Next: at Air Force (5-2, 4-1).

Utah Utes (4-3)

UTAH NON-CONFERENCE

OREGON STATE — Beat No. 2 California, 31-28. The Beavers (4-3, 2-2) came up big in Berkeley with a surprising upset win. Can they keep it up? Next: vs. Stanford (2-4, 1-3).

UTAH STATE — Bye. Perhaps the best news about not playing was the losing skid didn't swell. It might Saturday when the Aggies (0-6, 0-2) resume WAC play. Next: vs. Nevada 2-3, 0-1).

LOUISVILLE — Beat No. 15 Cincinnati, 28-24. Just when it looked like the Cardinals would fall under .500, they take flight. They're 4-3 overall and 1-1 in Big East play. Next: at Connecticut (5-0, 1-0).

UCLA — Bye. Nothing like a week off after becoming Notre Dame's first and only conquest of the season. The Bruins (4-2, 3-0) face a stiff test against Cal this weekend. Next: vs. No. 10 California (5-1, 2-1).
