AUBURN HILLS, Mich. Carlos Boozer, the Jazz's leading scorer and rebounder last season, joined the team in Detroit on Friday.
Boozer missed all of training camp last week in Boise and multiple practices this week while tending to his 1-year old son Carmani, who is recovering from both chemotherapy and a bone-marrow transplant to help in his battle with sickle cell anemia.
Boozer said the boy's prognosis in his bout with the disease has improved since he was recently released from the hospital.
Boozer will not play in the Jazz's exhibition at Detroit tonight, but said he should be ready to play later in the exhibition season.
