Do most LDS people believe Lyndon Johnson was somehow inspired in his decisions about the Vietnam War? I believe most LDS members take a stand on critical issues to a deeper level than Brian Birch assumes (Oct. 7).
I answered two critical questions to come to support President Bush. First, will this unconventional enemy destroy our nation if it is given the resources to do so? Second, if our nation has the ability to defend itself, shouldn't we prevent our nation's destruction?
I believe most Latter-day Saints who support this war have done so based on rational thought and scriptural precedent not some "deeply imbedded patriotism."
