PROVO — The Brigham Young University Religious Studies Center has released the seventh book in the Regional Studies collector series, "Regional Studies in Latter-day Saint Church History: The British Isles."

The latest volume is a collection of scholarly papers on the history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain. It highlights two major challenges faced by the early British Saints — dealing with the disruption of life caused by those immigrating to America and the almost constant harassment from fellow countrymen who resented their religion.

The book also includes a photographic essay and a discussion of the establishment of the first LDS chapel at Gadfield Elm in Worcestershire, as well as a dialogue regarding the "Titanic" disaster and its impact on the Latter-day Saints.

Like the previous volumes in this series, a limited number of books will be printed. Contact Stephanie Wilson at 801-422-3293 or visit religion.byu.edu.
