8-week writing course is beginning Oct. 16

LINDON — The Writer's Studio of Utah will hold an eight-week writing workshop course for writers and those serious about writing, beginning Oct. 16 with an orientation meeting at Noah's, 644 N. 200 West (east of I-15 off Pleasant Grove exit 275).

The course will cover such topics as finding your writing voice, how to get published, the changing markets and how to break in, how to make a living at your writing, creating unforgettable characters and much more.

The lecture-style course will be taught by professionals in the field of writing, publishing and literary representation. Randy Jernigan, the program's founder and executive director, is a veteran features writer for such weeklies as In Touch Weekly, Life and Style, People and The Star Magazine.

Jernigan said the objective of the program is to not only teach structure and style but to introduce authors to a network of publishers, magazine editors, film and television producers, agents and other successful writers who will take a serious look at their work.
