Salt Lake Acting Company, 168 W. 500 North, by appointment only (363-0526) for Guillem Clua's "Skin in Flames," directed by Roger Benington and scheduled Jan. 30-Feb. 24. Auditions will be Thursday, 2-4 p.m., and Friday, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Translated by D.J. Sanderes from Clua's French script, the plot involves an American journalist's iconic photo, taken in a troubled Third World country, which has made him famous. Twenty years later, he returns to the same place to receive an award. Two intertwining stories create a parable of the power of the First World and the desperation of the Third.
There are roles for two Caucasian males, ages 45-55, and two ethnic-minority women in their late 20s. Auditioners must be familiar with the play. Scripts will be available at the SLAC box office for 48-hour checkout. Both Equity and non-Equity players may audition.
Bring a current photograph and resume. Rehearsals begin Dec. 31.
