Time for some 'grill talk' to lose pounds

Today I got on the scale and discovered my weight is at an all-time low, lower than I was even two years ago after my big initial body clutter loss.

It was a poignant moment to see a goal become reality.

I have to tell you, this body-clutter loss came with some sweat equity! But it also came about with an increasing awareness of putting in what I plan to burn and making sure the fire was stoked enough to keep my metabolism going, but not too much.

It's always about balance, isn't it?

Anyway, I've shared some tricks with you in the past (like my soup fix trick, water, et al), but I have some more that I've been discovering that have been real lifesavers and have helped me navigate through some plateaus and temptations to just give up. Try these yourself.

Tricks to help you lose and keep the weight off:

1. Egg Beaters. I am totally protein driven. If I eat enough protein, I'm a happy camper, and I know that's true for a lot of FLYbabies. I adore eggs, but they can really add up to a lot of calories. My solution? Egg Beaters. They're mostly egg whites and they taste great. Years ago I tried them and they were GROSS! They must have reformulated them because now they're delicious, just like regular scrambled eggs, and I eat a half cup of them for only 60 calories with just a smidge of fat and carbs! Throw some salsa on there, and you're good to go.

2. Fiber Patrol. Honestly, if you can get 30-35 grams of fiber in a day, you will not feel hungry, you'll have better bowel habits (sorry for the potty talk, but it's true!) and you will be naturally inclined to eat less, resulting in a reduction of body clutter. I eat Kashi and Friends cereal in the morning (1 cup equals only 170 calories, but 12 whopping grams of fiber). I love this stuff and try to eat a bowl in the morning at least three times a week.

3. Must Marinate. If you're doing lean protein most of the time, you need to get some flavor from somewhere — the fat is gone. So marinate it. You can marinate with store-bought teriyaki sauce or anything else that suits your fancy. You can't mess up a marinade, just discover a new flavor!

4. Grill Crazy. I grill everything from meat, chicken, fish and every veggie in between. I've done pineapple on the grill even. If you marinate first, then grill, you'll be even happier. There is nothing like grilled veggies, honest. If you don't like veggies, try grilling them.
