I am a Comcast subscriber and, yes, I used to work part-time for the call center that services DirecTV customers. What is not being mentioned in all of the comments about Comcast and The mtn. channel is DirecTV's claim to fame: the NFL Sunday ticket. If I were an NFL football fan and I wanted to watch football games on Sunday, my only choice would be to subscribe to DirecTV. Comcast does not and cannot carry the NFL Sunday ticket. In this world, money talks. Maybe if DirecTV and Dish were to lose customers, it would send a clearer message than all the crying does.
