CHRIS HEIMERDINGER, author of the "Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites" series and "Passage to Zarahemla," will discuss his book, Wednesday, 7 p.m., South Branch of the Davis County Library, 725 S. Main, Bountiful. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

RICHARD RICHARDS, former chair of the Republican National Committee, will deliver a lecture, "The History and Nature of Presidential Campaigns," Thursday, 1:30 p.m., Lindquist Alumni Center, Weber State University, Ogden.

ROBERT ADLER, associate dean for academic affairs and James Farr Chair in Law, S.J. Quinney School of Law, University of Utah, will discuss his book, "Restoring Colorado River Ecosystems: A Troubled Sense of Immensity," Thursday, 7 p.m., The King's English Bookshop, 1511 S. 1500 East.

RICHARD PAUL EVANS, author of "The Gift," will sign copies of his book, Friday, noon, Salt Lake Downtown Deseret Book, 20 E. South Temple.

FREDERICK H. SWANSON, author of "Dave Rust: A Life in the Canyons," Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Robber's Roost Bookstore, Main Street, Torrey.

MARK SALZMAN, author of "Iron and Silk," "Lost in Place: Growing Up Absurd in Suburbia," "The Laughing Sutra," "The Soloist" and "Lying Awake," will deliver the prestigious Dewey Lecture, Saturday, 7:30 p.m., Nancy Tessman Auditorium, Salt Lake City Main Library, 210 E. 400 South. Free tickets for the lecture are available at all Salt Lake Library locations ($40 admission for attendees to be assured priority seating at the lecture and a private reception with the speaker at 6:30 p.m.).

LADIES' NIGHT AT DESERET BOOK, will be held Saturday, noon-8 p.m. in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building; Fort Union Deseret Book, 1110 E. Fort Union Blvd., Midvale; University Mall Deseret Book, 575 E. University Parkway, Orem; Layton Hills Deseret Book, Layton Hills Mall, Layton. A number of LDS authors will be available at each store to sign copies of their books.
