Support group meeting for Sjogren's syndrome at U. eye center

Sjogren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease that attacks the moisture-producing glands of the body. The hallmark symptoms are dry mouth and dry eyes.

Because Sjogren's syndrome can cause dysfunction with other organs, symptoms may vary. A support group will meet Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon in the auditorium of the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah, 65 N. Medical Drive.

The featured speaker is Molly Snauffer, a registered and certified dietitian. Her topic is "Nutrition Awareness for Sjogren's Syndrome."

Anyone who has been diagnosed with the syndrome or suspects they have it is invited. Contact Linda Phillips, support group leader, at 801-544-9603.
