TechniScan Medical Systems (TMS) Inc., a Salt Lake-based developer of ultrasound technology for breast imaging, is recruiting subjects for a clinical research study.
It is looking for women who have had a recent call-back for a diagnostic mammogram or ultrasound pertaining to an area of interest in their breasts and who would like to participate as volunteers.
TechniScan is working on a new imaging procedure that uses conventional ultrasound (no radiation) and is gentle (no compression). The study will take about one hour, and TMS will compensate each participant $50 plus the costs of obtaining copies of her mammography or ultrasound images and reports.
Participation in this research would not affect medical diagnosis or care in any way.
The clinical studies, which are expected to run through October, will be conducted at company headquarters, 1011 E. Murray-Holladay Road, Suite 130. Women who would like additional information or to inquire if they qualify for the study should call 801-521-0444, ext. 128.
