Trekkies, Star Warriors, Harry Potter-philes and other science-fiction and fantasy aficionados are converging on Salt Lake City this weekend for the third-annual Mountain-Con Science Fiction Celebration. The event runs through Sunday in the University Park Marriott, 430 Wakara Way.
Scheduled guests include actors Barbara Luna ("Star Trek"), Chase Masterson ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), David Prowse ("Star Wars"), Felix Silla ("Buck Rogers in the 25th Century," "Battlestar Galactica") and Garrett Wang ("Star Trek: Voyager"), as well as artist Cynthia Cummens and novelist Diana Pharaoh Francis ("The Cipher").
Mountain-Con will also feature game rooms, a dealers room, a short film festival and a "banquet with the stars." Three-day "memberships" are $45 for general admission and $22.50 for children ages 3-12. Daily tickets are also available (www.mountaincon.org).
