The registration process is required for those who want to buy ticket packages for the festival. It provides Utahns with the earliest opportunity to select screening tickets and offers customized ticket packages and passes at a substantially lower price.

Visit www.sundance.org/festival to register before Oct. 1.

Available ticket packages:

• The Film Lovers Package ($195), which includes 12 tickets to any festival screening or panel discussion.

• The Locals Quick Pass ($200), which includes festival screenings in Salt Lake City and Ogden.

• The SLC Preferred Package ($325), which includes tickets for 20 regular or premiere screenings in Salt Lake City.

Package availability is limited. Registrants must provide a valid Utah driver's license number. Limit is one package per person. Those who are registered can order their passes and packages starting Oct. 23.

The 2008 Sundance Film Festival will run Jan. 17-27 in a variety of Utah locations throughout Salt Lake City, Park City, Ogden and at the Sundance resort in Provo Canyon.

The festival also announced that online registration for locals-only, in-person ticket sales begins Dec. 3 (435-776-7878 or e-mail festivaltickets@sundance .org).
