The faith-based conservation group Utah Interfaith Power and Light is having its organizational launch Thursday in a joint event with the Water Wise Utah Partnership.

An informal meet-and-greet begins at 6:30 p.m. with a formal program at 7 p.m. at the Salt Lake Library, 210 E. 400 South.

A 25-minute film, "Greener Buildings, Bluer Skies," featuring interviews with Robert Redford and narration by Ted Danson, will be screened. The film explores the concepts and techniques behind one of the most environmentally efficient buildings in the world: the Natural Resources Defense Council headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif.

Ways that diverse faith-based groups can respond to climate change will be the topic of a panel discussion. Dave Sakrison, the mayor of Moab and an Episcopal priest, is the guest speaker.
