Transportation officials are asking residents of south Davis County to fill out a comment form or questionnaire listing what mode of transit they prefer to run across the county's southern end.

The public opinion will be used to help the Utah Department of Transportation and Utah Transit Authority select whether transportation systems such as light rail, bus rapid transit or streetcar should be built along a route from Salt Lake City to Farmington. The two agencies hope to select which system they prefer for the area by the end of the year.

"Right now we're pretty much looking at everything," UTA spokesman Chad Saley said on Wednesday.

Information about the UDOT/UTA study, known as the South Davis Transit Study, can be found at www.udot.utah.gov/southdavistransit, or by calling 1-888-721-4211. The questionnaire is located on the Web site under a link that says "Comment Form." Residents can also mail comments to: South Davis Transit Study, c/o H.W. Lochner, 310 E. 4500 South, Suite 600, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.
