Rocky factor has brought vitality to city

It's not a lot of fun when you're on the wrong side of his venom, but honestly, who would you rather have more at your back in a knife fight? If I'm Butch Cassidy, I want Rocky as the Sundance Kid.
Few could argue that he hasn't fought tirelessly for what he thinks is right or that he hasn't put more time and energy in as mayor than maybe anyone ever.
I think he's been off-base with his views at times refusing to graciously greet the president was Bush league. I think he's failed to make headway in some areas despite his many promises, Main Street still looks like downtown Beirut. But he's come through in so many others. The air is cleaner, the streets are safer, the city is anything but boring and show me a mayor anywhere with a better speaking voice.
Whether it's Becker who ends his reign, or it's Buhler, the anti-Rocky, Rocky Anderson is going to be one tough mayor to follow.
