Colbert said he was disappointed Ramond didn't move forward.
"It was sad to see him lost by such a few votes. And part of it is I think a lot of people don't know what he's done for them," he said.
Ramond, 38, is a local activist who attends most city council meetings and volunteers on local committees, like Draper's youth council, community foundation, Save Corner Canyon Committee and Draper Days.
Despite results, Ramond remains positive and is happy he can continuing serving on the community boards.
"One of the things that always worries me during the municipal election period is the low turnout. I told people I would trade high turnout for losing than low turnout for winning. And then it actually happened," he said, laughing. "But I really do feel that way."
Now, the six winners have roughly two months to campaign in a race with numerous highly-charged issues, such as TRAX coming through the city, a tax increase and potential new school district.
