"Turn Around" follows a modern-day twist on the story of Alma the Younger from the Book of Mormon and features a cast of young actors from the Wasatch Front area.

While this 90-minute film will make its debut on the big screen, it seems more suited for DVD. Shot on a small budget, Candlelight Media and director Brian Brough still manage to get an important message out about making correct choices, being accountable for those choices and never giving up on someone.

"Turn Around" will change hearts and inspire souls. This production seems best suited for LDS seminary or institute classes, value-based educational arenas.

For those who enjoy the squeaky-clean LDS film genre, this will be one to add to your DVD collection. After a short theatrical run, the film will be released on DVD in October.

The story, in a nutshell, goes like this: Colton Pratt, played by Jordon Sorenson, Orem, is a wayward LDS teen giving his parents and peers fits. He is rude, mean and soured on life. Sara Taylor, played by Jaci Twiss, South Jordan, is an aspiring tennis star. She loves life, her friends, family and church and is the brunt of Pratt's bullying.

Sorenson and Twiss are both new to film and do a pretty good job of character interpretation. While the film starts out a bit slow, these two are able to pull the story off with very few gaps.

Those watching must remember: These are LDS teens playing LDS teens — they pretty much have the gist of this acting gig in their creative genes anyway.

Jason Osmond, American Fork, is Pratt's friend and mean boy Blake.

Osmond seems comfortable with his role, and while likable off-set, his character is obnoxious throughout the entire show.

A fun character in this show is Ashley Pratt, played by Caitlin E.J. Meyer. As the pesky little sister, Meyer has her character absolutely nailed.

This is a show for teens, about teens and is a film every parent should want their teen to see. However, you don't have to be a teenager to enjoy it or learn from it.

"Turn Around" is rated PG (thematic material including teen misbehavior and drinking).
