Outlook: Jordan surges to No. 1 after surprising win over previous No. 1 Bingham. Next up: at Riverton, Friday.

2. Alta (3-1) Class: 5A

Was: 2. Points: 307. Last week: Beat Hunter 53-12

Outlook: Hawks rest Shakerin but still smoke Wolverines by 41. Next up: vs. Grant, Calif., Friday.

3. Timpview (4-0) Class: 4A

Was: 4. Points: 300. Last week: Beat Payson, 49-0

Outlook: T-Birds picked up their second shutout of the season last weekend. Next up: at Mountain View, Friday.

4. Bingham (3-1) Class: 5A

Was: 1. Points: 299. Last week: Lost to Jordan, 36-35

Outlook: Despite loss, many consider the Miners still the team to beat in 5A. Next up: vs. Lone Peak, Friday.

5. Cottonwood (4-0) Class: 4A

Outlook: Isi Sofele could be the most underrated running back in the state. Next up: vs. Cyprus, Friday.

7. Layton (3-1) Class: 5A

8. Bountiful (4-0) Class: 4A
