Police in Enoch, Iron County, said they are investigating a possible sighting of a missing 18-year-old man.

A truck driver reported seeing Christopher Robin Coan at a convenience store in the Park City area on Saturday afternoon. However, police told the Deseret Morning News that the outside video surveillance system at the gas station was not working.

Coan may have been in the Park City area for an informal "MySpace convention," Enoch Police Chief David Browning said Monday.

"He's a big MySpacer," Browning said.

Police are now appealing to Coan's friends on MySpace to help them with any information about where the man might be. Coan's MySpace page reveals a profile of a teenager who appears to have an interest in the counterculture of the 1960s.

Police are looking in the Salt Lake area for any sign of Coan.

"We need to find that car," Browning said, referring to Coan's 1994 red and silver Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.

The SUV has a temporary tag in the back and a number of stickers, including some that say "Jerry Bear," "The Wizz cartoon" and "Beatles."

Coan left his job at a Subway restaurant the night of Sept. 3 but never returned home. Friends and family spent the weekend searching the high-country desert around Cedar City trying to find any sign of Coan.

Police said they are still looking at whether foul play was involved in his disappearance, but also believe that Coan may have suffered a head injury as a child, which could affect his mental state now.

"We're concerned about his mental state," Browning said. "What would have caused him to just throw away everything down here and just disregard family, friends, that type of thing?"

Anyone with information is urged to call police at 435-586-1119.
