PROVO Project Read will join other organizations around the country celebrating International Literacy Day by hosting its first spelling bee fund-raiser Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the ballroom of the Provo City Library at Academy Square, 550 N. University Ave.
The event will feature three-person teams in round tournament and finals play. Prizes will be given out to the top teams. Registration is $125 per team. Corporate sponsors are welcome. Individuals may sign up with a group or sign up solo and be placed on a team.
Along with the spelling bee, Project Read will host a Scholastic book fair Friday and Saturday. Call 852-6654 for information.
