Snow

FOOTBALL: Snow College improved to 3-0 with its second straight shutout victory, 52-0, Saturday at Badger Stadium over the Pima Aztecs.

Running back Soni Sotele amassed 115 yards on 13 carries, including two touchdowns to lead the Badgers to the victory. Quarterback Jon Eastman threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.

"I couldn't be happier with the way we are playing on both sides of the ball," said Snow head coach Steve Coburn. "We have a lot of talent on this team, and each week we are gaining experience."

The No. 2 nationally ranked Badgers travel to Yuma, Ariz., to take on Arizona Western Saturday.

Brigham Young

VOLLEYBALL: The No. 9-ranked BYU women's volleyball team opened strong with a first-game win over No. 2 Stanford Saturday night in Palo Alto, but the Cardinal protected their home floor by coming back for a 3-1 (30-28, 18-30, 22-30, 26-30) victory to earn the Stanford Invitational title.

Senior outside hitter Chelsea Goodman led three Cougars in double-digit kills with 19, followed by junior middle blocker Rachel Dyer with 17 and senior rightside hitter Erica Lott with 14.

With the loss, BYU falls to 6-2 on the year.

Utah Valley

VOLLEYBALL: Despite two early goals from Shantae Adams, Utah Valley dropped a 3-2 match to Long Island after surrendering three unanswered goals.

GOLF: Southern Utah's golf team slipped one spot to finish in 13th place in its season-opening event Sunday as the team fired a squad-tournament-high round of 303 the final time around the Eisenhower Blue Course. Matt McArthur was the low Thunderbird, in 31st place.

Utah

SOCCER: The University of Utah women's soccer team played to a 3-3, double-overtime tie Sunday at Washington State. The Utes had leads of 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 during regulation play, but the Cougars found a way to tie things up on all three occasions.
