Wilson, a Democrat, also touts her experience, saying she has the right background to lead Salt Lake City. In a 30-second TV spot, Wilson emphasizes the importance of building and developing the city's west side, environmental concerns such as air quality and funding for transit.
Buhler, a Republican, champions himself as "a reasonable guy who gets things done." One thing he plans to accomplish if elected, he said, will be to "change the tone in the mayor's office."
"I think I'm the candidate best prepared to do that," he said, "to bring the spirit of cooperation to city government and work with the City Council."
Utah House minority leader Becker, a Democrat, said he would bring leadership and experience to the mayor's office.
"With strong leadership, a breadth and depth of experience, and with a vision for this city, Salt Lake City can emerge not only as a wonderful place to live, but as a great American city," he said.
