I was so pleased to see the story about the Dixie Lions Club dropping tobacco sponsors from its great rodeo. This move is good for rodeo and will make rodeo the family-friendly environment that it is meant to be. Congratulations to the Dixie Lions Club Rodeo for doing the right thing for kids and families and rodeo.
I watched the Poway Rodeo in California grow in attendance each year after dropping tobacco sponsors from their rodeo three years ago. I hope the Utah State Fair Rodeo will follow Dixie's lead and follow through with the promise last year to drop tobacco sponsors and banners from its rodeo this year, too.
Thanks for leading the way, Dixie Lions.
