PROVO The community is invited to an open house to learn about the possible closure of Grandview Elementary.
The open house will be Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Grandview, 1591 Jordan Ave.
"There's going to be what the district calls big boards, describing the boundary proposals, if Grandview remains open and a boundary proposal if Grandview is to close," said Christian Faulconer, chairman of a committee of community members and Provo School District staff studying closure of the school.
The public will learn about the pros and cons of closing the school, such as impacts on finances, school population and secondary school impacts.
Members of the committee as well as the Provo Board of Education will be available for questions and comments.
Grandview Elementary is one of the Provo School District's oldest buildings. The district has discussed closing the school because another elementary on Provo's west side is under construction.
