The possibility of including mass transportation options in the connector project is good news to Dave Klock, a developer and founder of Citizens Organized for Smarter Transportation. The COST organization is heavily involved in protesting UDOT's preferred option of connecting the Mountain View Corridor to I-15 via 2100 North in Lehi.

Klock said COST agrees with UDOT's plans to start the road at the Main Street exit in American Fork, but the group is not supportive of building the road anywhere else.

"If (UDOT) is going to connect (the East-West Connector) at Main Street in American Fork, then I'm in very strong favor of UDOT's proposal and I have no issues," Klock said. "If they choose to pull the road further south ... they will have a problem."

Although he is encouraging members of COST to attend today's open house, Klock said the group is mostly focused for the time being on fighting a preferred alignment for the Mountain View Corridor in Lehi.

"We only have so many bullets in our gun," Klock said.
